Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Welding Engineer to join our team at DNAINCLLC. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing laser welding, supervision, root cause analysis, and providing program support for defense programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership in laser welding technology;
  • Manage capital requirements for laser/resistance welder equipment upgrades;
  • Conduct metallurgical evaluations, cutting, and sectioning;
  • Ensure compliance with ISO Quality Systems and DCN processes;
  • Design and develop welding systems;
  • Supervise welders and engineering technicians;
  • Maintain and ensure welding equipment is in working order;
  • Lead welding projects and perform troubleshooting;
  • Implement laser welding machine maintenance and standards;
  • Interact with customers on design, interface, and functional details;
  • Support manufacturing and analysis of energetic materials;
  • Write technical reports and coordinate with stakeholders;
  • Ensure site compliance with DOD/DOE regulations;
  • Support project and operations teams;
  • Participate in failure analysis activities;
  • Support bid and proposal activities;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • BS/MS in Welding Engineering or similar discipline;
  • Minimum 5 years of industry experience in laser welding;
  • Experience with Laser Welding systems and products;
  • Ability to achieve DOE Clearance Classified;
  • Up-to-date knowledge of industry developments and welding techniques;
  • Aerospace and/or defense product experience a bonus;
  • Ability to learn and apply energetics knowledge;
  • Experience generating 3D models and 2D drawings;
  • Demonstrated understanding of specifications and requirements;
  • Ability to analyze engineering blueprints and designs;
  • Understanding of product cost drivers;
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills;
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite software;
  • Experience with SolidWorks, ProE, or AutoCAD software preferred;
  • U.S. Citizenship required due to Department of Energy regulations.

This position requires the use of information subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
