Job Summary
A medical imaging specialist with Yale New Haven Health is responsible for providing patient-centered care through technical duties including the performance of complex imaging procedures with angiographic equipment. The successful candidate will ensure quality imaging for diagnostic purposes, maintain accurate patient records, and promote a culture of safety and compassion in the healthcare environment.

The role involves collaboration with medical teams and requires a commitment to continuous learning and excellence in patient interaction. Under the supervision of the Interventional Radiology Manager and/or Assistant Chief Technologist, the specialist will perform a wide variety of technical and professional duties utilizing complex imaging equipment to produce quality IR images as requested for subsequent interpretation by the radiologist.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year experience in a hospital radiology department and possess RT(R) certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Proficient in routine IR imaging techniques, above average knowledge of computer / PACS applications, and good organizational and communication/customer service skills are essential.

Responsibilities
- Set up angiographic equipment for proper function prior to exams
- Produce high-quality images during and after procedures
- Verify physician orders on requisitions prior to proceeding
- Supply physicians with necessary disposable or other equipment
- Perform various clerical and record-keeping functions
- Maintain respectful and professional attitude with staff involved in the department

Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited Special Procedures program
- At least 1 year experience in a hospital radiology department
- RT(R) certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Proficient in routine IR imaging techniques
- Above average knowledge of computer / PACS applications
- Good organizational and communication/customer service skills
