Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team at the Town of Hope Mills, NC. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, preventing and investigating crimes, and providing excellent customer service to our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol assigned areas to preserve law and order and prevent crime
  • Respond to emergency calls and complaints, including automobile accidents, robberies, and domestic disputes
  • Investigate crimes, gather evidence, and make arrests as necessary
  • Provide escort services for parades, funerals, and other processions
  • Make public appearances and give speeches on crime prevention and safety
  • Advise property owners on practical methods of crime prevention
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Completion of all basic requirements of the NC Justice Education and Standards Commission for a certified Police Officer
  • Possession of a BLET certificate from the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Standards Commission (preferred)
  • 1+ years experience as a current law enforcement officer (preferred)
  • A valid NC driver's license is required upon hire and must be maintained throughout employment
  • Must live within 30 miles of Hope Mills, NC
Working Conditions

Employment with the Town of Hope Mills is at-will and is conditional upon the completion of pre-employment screenings, such as a drug test, criminal history, verification of education and/or employment, and professional references.
