Job Title: Geotechnical Engineer

Cash Waggner & Associates is seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our team. As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and constructing geotechnical structures, including foundations, retaining walls, earth dams, and geosynthetics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop geotechnical structures, including foundations, retaining walls, and earth dams.
  • Assess the properties and behavior of soil, rock, and other earth materials to ensure safe and efficient design, construction, and maintenance of infrastructure projects.
  • Manage and direct field crew activities, consult with project stakeholders, and provide guidance on engineering requirements.
  • Collaborate with surveyors, civil engineers, structural engineers, architects, and construction managers to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Set design specifications, plan projects, and estimate materials, equipment, and labor needed to determine project costs.
  • Monitor project progress, ensure design specifications, safety, and sanitation standards are met, and perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, with an emphasis on Soils Mechanics, Foundations, Geotechnical Engineering, and Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer licensure or ability to become licensed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to identify and solve complex problems.
  • Proficient in computer-assisted design (CAD) and other design, data recording, and analysis software.
Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Must be able to travel to various project sites and access and navigate job sites and construction areas.
