Job Description

Stamford Health, a well-established and award-winning healthcare system, is seeking a Per Diem Radiation Therapist to join our team. As a Radiation Therapist, you will be responsible for delivering radiation therapy treatment as prescribed by the radiation oncologist, maintaining equipment, and ensuring quality assurance checks.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver radiation therapy treatment to patients as prescribed by the radiation oncologist.
  • Maintain and ensure the proper functioning of equipment, including daily quality assurance checks.
  • Monitor patient physical and physiological responses to treatment and refer patients for appropriate management as needed.
  • Assist in the development of new techniques or resolving clinical problems.
  • Administer radiation therapy treatment accurately and safely, monitoring and reporting treatment variances and inconsistencies.
  • Document all treatment delivery information in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Participate in and document the Time Out procedure for every treatment verification and daily treatment.
Qualifications
  • Valid CT State License in Radiation Therapy.
  • Valid ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy.
  • Valid BLS certification.
  • Associate Degree or Certificate in Radiation Therapy.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal professional relationships with physicians, management, peers, patients, and their families.
  • Ability to convey a positive attitude and present a professional appearance.
  • Effective communication (both oral and written) skills sufficient to resolve conflicts and relay information concisely to staff, patients, and other hospital personnel.
Working Conditions

Must be prepared to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed. Must be prepared to work and excel in a stressful, complex, and demanding team environment with varying workload and schedule.
