Welder Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Welder Specialist to join our team at Johnson Thermal Systems.

The Welder Specialist position is located in Caldwell, Idaho. You will be responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements. You will also join metal parts together using heat, pressure, and/or filler materials while ensuring a safe work environment by wearing required PPE and following safety guidelines.

• Prepare materials for welding by cleaning, cutting, and positioning them in place.
• Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment.
• Analyze drawings, blueprints, sketches, work orders, and safety data sheets to plan the layout, assembly, and operations.
• Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on project requirements.
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions.
• Check welds to ensure they meet specifications and are defect-free.
• Ensure quality checklists are completed at each step.
• Work with various metals, including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
• Prepare material surfaces to ensure no slag, rust, grease, or loose scale.
• Inspect finished welding projects to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.

• A high school diploma or equivalent is desired, or any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the job duties.
• Certification in welding from an accredited institution is preferred.
• 2+ years of welding experience, preferably in manufacturing or heavy equipment industries.
• Experience with MIG/TIG is preferred.
• Experience with welding machinery, electrical equipment, and manual tools.
• Knowledge of various welding techniques.
• Understanding of the manufacturing industry.
• A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of jobsite safety and ability to ensure a safe workplace.
• Understanding of safety regulations and necessary PPE requirements.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Adherence to safety protocols and maintenance of a clean and organized environment, promoting a culture of safety and compliance.

$60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
