Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our research team at the Cardiovascular Institute of the South. As an LPN Research Assistant, you will play a critical role in assisting with subject recruitment, managing study-related activities, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Screen and enroll study subjects, ensuring adherence to protocol requirements and regulatory guidelines.
  • Manage study-related activities, including scheduling subjects for follow-up visits, monitoring adverse events, and documenting protocol deviations.
  • Develop and maintain management systems for study protocols, including developing draft protocol follow-up worksheets and reviewing the protocol summary sheet and Informed Consent Form for accuracy and clarity.
  • Communicate regularly with the Principal Investigator, monitor, and other responsible for the conduct of the research about study-related issues.
  • Assist in the development of management systems for study protocols, including preparing and submitting initial applications to central and local committees (IRBs, biosafety, radiology, etc.) and preparing and submitting reports as required.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate
  • Graduate from an accredited Vocational-Technical school or equivalent
  • Current License in Louisiana
  • One year experience working as a Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Basic Life Support certification (BLS) is required

Working Conditions

The LPN Research Assistant will work in a fast-paced research environment, interacting with physicians, staff, patients, and family members on a regular basis. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
