Job Overview

This role involves developing enterprise-grade software applications that run on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform and leverage AWS services to conduct worldwide scientific mission operations.

The ideal candidate will have experience with Java, REST web services, database applications, and Linux environment.

Responsibilities
  • Develop server-side processing and client-side (web) applications within a virtualized Linux environment
  • Leverage modern DevOps practices and Agile development process
  • Use Git, Maven, Nexus, and Jenkins for version control and project management
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in Java development
  • 2+ years of experience in developing REST web services
  • 2+ years of experience in developing database applications
  • 2+ years of experience in developing in a Linux environment
  • 1+ years of experience using Git, Maven, Nexus, and Jenkins
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with AWS Services such as EMR, Kinesis, and DynamoDB
  • Experience with NoSQL databases such as HBase, MongoDB, ElasticSearch
  • Experience with the Spring Framework and usage of Spring Boot templates
  • Experience with JavaScript and open-source frameworks (e.g. React, Angular, Vue)
  • Comfortable with light scripting in Bash and/or Python
