Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team at OrthoCarolina. As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will work closely with our physical therapists to provide high-quality patient care and support.

Job Summary:

The Physical Therapy Assistant will be responsible for assisting physical therapists in the delivery of patient care, including applying modalities, administering exercise programs, and instructing patients in home exercise programs. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a passion for providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply modalities, including ultrasound, electrical stimulation, hot packs, whirlpool, traction, ice, paraffin, iontophoresis, and therapeutic massage, as directed by physical therapists.
  • Administer exercise programs and procedures, including active and passive exercise, joint and soft tissue mobilization, and gait training, as established by physical therapists.
  • Instruct patients in home exercise programs for all diagnoses.
  • Maintain orderly department, including cleaning of treatment tables, whirlpools, and surrounding work areas, and stocking of treatment areas with linen and supplies.
  • Supervise patient exercise programs on Cybex equipment, isotonic, and aerobic equipment.
  • Write daily progress notes and, when necessary, progress notes to physicians.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
