Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursing Unit Manager to lead our Geriatric Psychiatry Nursing Unit. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the unit, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, and promoting a positive and supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the activities, workflow, and nursing resources of the assigned nursing unit(s).
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements for self and within the unit.
  • Conduct hiring, training, directing, development, and evaluating of staff.
  • Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care services for the assigned unit(s).
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to guarantee efficient and effective delivery of health services in a unit.
  • Monitor and adhere to budget. Approve or monitor expenditures, purchases, and other actions to ensure compliance with budget guidelines.
Requirements
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration:
    • BLS Provider obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
    • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing required.
  • Education:
    • Required professional licensure/certification AND 3 years of experience and 1 year of cumulative leadership experience required.
  • Additional Preferences:
