Key Responsibilities:
- Administer medication reminders and assistance in accordance with state regulations.
- Dispense medications as permitted by state laws.
- Manage medication orders and ensure availability for administration, coordinating with pharmacies as necessary.
- Prioritize and manage tasks to provide optimal service to residents as their needs evolve.
- Maintain accurate resident records on our digital platform, documenting medication distribution, incidents, and observations, and reporting any changes in residents' health or behavior.
- Conduct regular room visits and checks.
- Provide assistance with resident care as required.
- Respond promptly to resident requests for assistance, including emergency calls and inquiries from family members.
- Monitor the safety and well-being of residents, communicating any changes to the Director of Health and Wellness or the on-duty Wellness Nurse.
- Perform audits and checks on self-administered medications to ensure compliance with guidelines.
- Foster open communication with supervisors and peers to stay informed about resident concerns.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; two to four years of relevant experience or training preferred.
- Medication certification as mandated by state regulations.
- Successful completion of the ESL medication competency upon hire and as required by state regulations.
- First Aid and CPR certification as required by state law and/or company standards.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals, and communicate effectively with residents and team members.
- Capable of applying common sense to follow detailed instructions.
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance in accordance with dress code standards.
- Demonstrate a high level of service and hospitality, ensuring resident satisfaction and addressing service issues effectively.
- Strong verbal communication skills; able to present information clearly and listen attentively.
- Work collaboratively with a team to achieve common goals.
- Communicate warmly and helpfully, building trust and rapport with residents and their families.
- Maintain confidentiality and foster an ethical work environment.
- Adapt to changing circumstances and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Availability to work varied schedules, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
