Position Overview

Objective and Responsibilities: The primary goal of this role is to generate comprehensive, precise, and timely estimates for various civil engineering projects, including earthwork, underground utilities, grading, paving, and both flatwork and structural concrete for public sector entities and private developers. This position involves reviewing and finalizing all bidding documents and proposals.

The individual will be accountable for the management of projects that are either bid or assigned, which encompasses contract evaluation, submission processes, procurement, invoicing, cost forecasting, and providing oversight and support to field personnel. Building and maintaining relationships with clients and project owners is also a key responsibility.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct detailed take-offs and estimates.
  • Supply all necessary information to the Contract Administrator for processing.
  • Prepare and submit all required documentation.
  • Participate in weekly safety meetings at job sites.
  • Oversee cost management and forecasting, collaborating with management and the Superintendent.
  • Develop and update project timelines.
  • Estimate, prepare, and manage change orders.

Qualifications:

A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in heavy civil construction is required.

Essential Skills and Knowledge:
  • Proficient in high-production environments.
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities.
  • Experience with HCSS Estimating software.
  • Familiarity with HCSS Project Manager Software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project.
  • A clean driving record is essential.
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings.
