The Chemical Solutions Operations Specialist is integral to the manufacturing and production of chemical products and related solutions. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining equipment, overseeing production processes, conducting quality assurance checks, and ensuring adherence to safety standards. This role demands strong technical acumen, meticulous attention to detail, and the capability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesChemical Management:
- Receive, store, and organize chemicals and solutions in accordance with established protocols.
- Label and maintain precise records of all chemicals and solutions.
- Monitor inventory levels and initiate reorders as necessary.
Solution Preparation:
- Prepare chemical solutions following specified formulas and concentrations.
- Ensure the accuracy and consistency of prepared solutions.
- Calibrate and operate equipment utilized in solution preparation.
Quality Assurance:
- Conduct regular quality assurance tests on chemicals and solutions.
- Document test results and maintain comprehensive records.
- Identify and report any discrepancies from quality standards.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols for the handling and disposal of chemicals.
- Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and maintain safety equipment.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Clean and maintain laboratory and storage equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Coordinate with maintenance personnel for repairs and servicing.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all activities.
- Prepare reports on chemical usage, inventory levels, and quality assurance results.
- Assist in the preparation of safety and compliance documentation.
- Work is typically conducted in a laboratory or industrial setting.
- May involve exposure to hazardous chemicals and materials.
- Requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Regular hours, with potential for overtime based on project requirements.
- Ability to lift and move containers of chemicals and solutions.
- Standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods.
- Fine motor skills for handling small components and instruments.
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate's degree or certification in chemical technology or a related field is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience as a Chemical Process Technician or in a similar role within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations, such as OSHA and EPA requirements, is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with quality assurance processes and techniques.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in physically demanding conditions.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts and overtime as required.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
