Instrumentation Journeyman

Mears Construction, a leading provider of services in the natural gas and electric industries, is seeking an experienced Instrumentation Journeyman to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee apprentices and provide guidance and leadership in the installation of new metering, controlling, and recording devices.
  • Plan and execute the layout and installation of electrical circuits, ensuring compliance with safety policies and industry standards.
  • Troubleshoot and test electrical systems using required testing equipment, identifying hazards and defects.
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings to ensure accurate installation.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify potential hazards and defects.
  • Coach, train, and evaluate employees, guiding them towards goal achievement.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of full-time experience installing instrumentation.
  • A valid Driver's License.
  • Computer skills and proficiency in relevant software.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Ability to stand or walk for long periods, with repeated lifting (up to 50 lbs.), kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching.

This position is subject to the Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol testing regulations.
