About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Elementary Education Instructor to join our team at Cascade View Elementary. As an instructor, you will be responsible for guiding elementary-age participants through various hands-on learning activities in our Before and After-School Enrichment (BASE) program.

In this role, you will play a vital part in teaching teamwork and social-emotional skills to children while encouraging skill-building, creative exploration, physical activity, and most importantly, fun.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:
  1. Implement culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate activities within the curriculum in accordance with the Youth Development goals of the YMCA.
  2. Supervise a group of children to ensure their health and safety and provide a positive experience for each child.
  3. Provide guidance to staff/volunteers overseeing the activities of groups of children.
  4. Communicate day-to-day, confidential, and evaluative information with parents/guardians.
  5. Follow YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergency procedures.
  6. Maintain a developmentally appropriate site, including appearance, décor, and cleanliness.
  7. Prepare and serve snacks, clean the snack area, and assist with other duties as assigned.
