Job Summary

Kindred Healthcare is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional patient care. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will assist professional nursing personnel in delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families.
  • Perform more complex clinical skills under the direction of professional nursing personnel, such as taking vital signs and documenting patient information.
  • Consult with and keep supervisors informed of unit activities, needs, and problems related to patient care.
  • Prepare patient rooms and beds for admission and transfers, ensuring all necessary equipment is in place.
  • Assist with patient admission, transfer, and discharge procedures, including handling and care of patient belongings.
  • Respond to patient call lights, telephone, and paging system in a timely and professional manner.
  • Perform routine treatment procedures, such as enemas and application of appliances for heat and cold, under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
  • Release, remove, and reapply restraints to patients under the direction of an RN, ensuring proper positioning and alignment.
  • Assist Registered Nurses and/or LVNs/LPNs with complicated patient treatment procedures.
  • Serve and remove patient meal trays in a timely manner, assisting with feeding and preparing items as needed.
Requirements
  • Current Nursing Assistant Certification
  • BLS Certification
  • Minimum six months' experience in acute or long-term care facility
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Able to organize tasks, develop action plans, set priorities, and function under stressful situations
