Job Title: Travel Licensed Vocational Nurse

Healthcare Staffing Plus is seeking a skilled and compassionate Travel Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team. As a Travel LVN, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to patients and families in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Job Summary:

The Travel Licensed Vocational Nurse will work under the direct supervision of a physician and Nurse Manager to provide competent and compassionate nursing care to patients and families. The ideal candidate will possess excellent critical thinking skills, communication and organizational skills, and the ability to remain current in knowledge of critical care.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide physical care and emotional support to patients and families under direct supervision.
  • Participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care and treatment plans.
  • Support and reinforce patient teaching plan, educate patients about proper use of medications.
  • Administer medications within parameters defined by Dermatology Service after successful orientation.
  • Photograph patients with various skin conditions using a variety of photographic procedures, techniques, and equipment.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance activities and support peers and colleagues in maintaining established standards of care.
  • Identify patient care needs and utilize nursing resources appropriately.
  • Triaging of patient urgent clinical calls which may result in scheduling patient appointments, as well as Telehealth appointments.
  • Inform patients of pathology, lab results, and plan of care.
  • Utilize In-Basket messages to monitor all biopsies and ensure that all necessary therapies are administered as scheduled by the physician.
  • Provide clinical nursing coverage across the Medical Dermatology specialty services.
  • Obtain prior authorizations for medications as needed.
  • Participate in developing and implementing new ideas in nursing practice.
  • Participate in daily activities conducive to the comfort and safety of patients, visitors, and staff.
Requirements:
  • Minimum two years current LVN experience.
  • Phlebotomy experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Previous Travel experience preferred.
  • COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster.
  • BLS - American Heart Association.
  • Active unencumbered Texas RN license.
