We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our Oncology inpatient/outpatient clinic team at Jamaica Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, develop and implement collaborative practice agreements, and work closely with physicians to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Assess the health status of patients and families through comprehensive health histories and physical examinations.
- Initiate therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, consultations, and laboratory examinations, and prescribe and alter medication regimens as needed.
- Educate and counsel patients and families on health promotion, maintenance, disease prevention, and management of acute and chronic illnesses.
- Document findings and plan of care in patient medical records.
- Consult with physicians as established in collaborative practice agreements.
- Advocate for patients and families and support their rights.
- Currently a Nurse Practitioner in the State of NY (Masters Degree-Advanced Practice).
- Minimum of 1-2 years Oncology advanced experience.
- Current BLS, ACLS.
Jamaica Hospital is a 424-bed fully accredited community teaching hospital with a Level I trauma center and a large network of community-based ambulatory care and the largest voluntary hospital ambulance fleet serving the City 911 system. We provide general medical, pediatric, and psychiatric emergency services, ambulatory care on and off campus, ambulatory surgery, and a broad spectrum of diagnostic and treatment services.
