Labor and Delivery Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to join our team at TotalMed. As a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive care to expectant mothers throughout their labor and delivery experience.
About this RoleThis is a 91-day assignment with a start date of December 1st. The ideal candidate will have two years of recent labor and delivery nursing experience and possess strong communication and adaptability skills. You will be responsible for supporting women throughout their labor and delivery experience and ensuring the safe arrival of their babies into the world.
Job DetailsThis position offers a competitive salary of $98,415 per year, based on a weekly wage of $2,387.92. The shift is 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, three days a week. The location is in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive nursing care to expectant mothers throughout the labor and delivery process, including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care.
- Monitor maternal and fetal well-being, assess progress during labor, and assist with pain management techniques to ensure a safe and comfortable birthing experience.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized birth plans and interventions.
- Assist with childbirth, including vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and other obstetric procedures, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and infection control measures.
- Educate and support mothers and their families during the postpartum period, providing breastfeeding assistance, newborn care instruction, and emotional support for the transition to parenthood.
- Current RN license
- BLS (Other Certifications as required by facility)
- Two years of recent labor and delivery nursing experience
- Strong communication and adaptability skills
