Elementary Teacher

Berryville Public School District is seeking a dedicated and passionate Elementary (K-2) Structured Learning Classroom (SLC) Teacher to join our team.

The Elementary (K-2) Structured Learning Classroom (SLC) Teacher will be responsible for creating a safe and optimal learning environment for students in grades K-2. The successful candidate will develop and implement engaging lesson plans, assess student progress, and provide feedback to students, parents, and administration.

• Develop and implement curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
• Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction.
• Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and translate lesson plans into learning experiences.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning, scaffold and modify instructional methods to fit individual student needs.
• Instruct students in the principles of responsible citizenship and other subject matters specified in applicable laws.
• Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field.
• Organize and maintain a system for accurate and complete record-keeping.
• Encourage parental involvement in students' education and ensure effective communication with students and parents.
• Ensure that student conduct conforms with the school's standards and school district policies.
• Coordinates with other professional staff members to evaluate and assess curriculum, state standards, and essential standards.
• Selects and requisitions appropriate books, instructional aids, and other supplies.
• Supervises students in activities that take place out of the classroom during the school day.
• Administers standardized tests in accordance with District testing programs.

• Arkansas State Certification as a special education teacher.
• Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade levels preferred.

The Elementary (K-2) Structured Learning Classroom (SLC) Teacher will work in a public school setting and may occasionally be required to lift up to 30 pounds, provide student behavior support, and provide physical assistance to students in emergency evacuation or lockdown procedures.
