Job Title: Case Worker - Transitional Family Shelter

Job Summary:

The Salvation Army is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Case Worker to join our team at the Transitional Family Shelter. As a Case Worker, you will play a vital role in providing case management and housing search assistance to families in need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with social workers, counselors, and community partners to ensure families receive comprehensive support services.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external agencies, churches, and volunteers to enhance the range of services available to shelter residents.
  • Document client participation in program and maintain accurate data entry of client information.
  • Advocate for the needs and rights of families in transition within the broader community.
  • Assist program participants in using traditional and online tools to access available resources.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in social work, counseling, or a related field required.
  • Previous experience working in social services/human services preferred.
  • Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to speak, read, comprehend, write and communicate effectively in the English language and in a professional manner.
  • Willing and able to maintain confidential information in accordance with The Salvation Army and industry standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Lived experience related to recovery, resilience, or similar life challenges is highly valued.
  • Active engagement within The Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Programs, Narcotics Anonymous and/or Alcoholics Anonymous are ideal.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to process written, visual, and/or verbal information.
