This role involves working closely with our experienced nursing team to provide exceptional care to patients. Key responsibilities include maintaining confidentiality of patient records, staying informed about departmental communications, and collaborating with Charge RN/Supervising RN to prioritize tasks.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient and organization records and information.
  • Takes responsibility to stay informed about Departmental communications.
  • Coordinates coverage with Charge RN/Supervising RN when leaving the unit.
  • Notifies Charge RN/Supervising RN about assignment status during shift.
  • Communicates patient care information to maintain standards of care.
  • Communicates professionally with patients, family, and staff.
  • Provides assistance to members or connects them with the right person as needed.
  • Follows safety guidelines for equipment use.
  • Reports defective equipment and initiates repair requests according to policy.
  • Identifies patients by checking their ID bands before performing duties.
  • Handles hazardous waste correctly according to HazCom regulations.
  • Handles infectious waste in compliance with Infection Control standards.
  • Performs roles during Codes.
  • Delivers services that promote patient comfort and safety.
  • Assists patients and team members in safely moving, transferring, turning, positioning, ambulating, and transporting.
  • Applies safety devices as assigned by the RN.
  • Completes delegated tasks defined in the CNA1 Scope of Duties:
  • Accurately measures and records vital signs, reporting abnormal findings immediately to the supervising RN.
  • Collects and transports specimens when necessary.
  • Documents completion of delegated tasks on designated chart forms.
  • Reports observed changes in patient condition to supervising RN.
  • Maintains a safe and comfortable environment for patients.
  • Completes tasks efficiently and timely as assigned.
  • Collaborates with supervising RN to prioritize tasks according to situation and total assignment.
  • Remains adaptable to changes in the work environment and related assignments.
