At Dog & Cat Hospital, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients and supporting our veterinary team.
Key Responsibilities- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with appointments, procedures, and patient care
- Prepare patients for surgery and minor procedures, and assist with surgical and diagnostic tests
- Restrain animals safely and efficiently, and obtain accurate vitals and medical histories
- Collect and prepare laboratory samples, and maintain medical equipment
- Provide high-quality client communication and updates on patient care
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and vacation shifts
- Knowledge of medical procedures and animal handling
- Strong communication skills, good judgment, and ability to manage stressful situations
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Competitive hourly rate ($13-$15/hour based on experience)
