We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our Cardiac Surgery team at NorthShore University HealthSystem. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our cardiac surgeons in the operating room.
Key Responsibilities- Assist cardiac surgeons in the operating room, providing first and second assist support for a continuum of cardiac surgery cases, including CABG, valve replacement, and LVAD implantation.
- Split job duties between the OR (60%) and patient care, including the ICU (40%).
- No clinic responsibilities.
- Participate in Q5, rotating operative weekend call.
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
- At least 2 years' experience as a first assistant in cardiac surgery cases, with equal experience performing endovascular vein harvest. Radial artery procurement is a plus.
- License: Physician Assistant (PA) and Controlled Substance Licensure in the State of IL and Federal DEA required.
