ARE YOU READY TO MAKE AN IMPACT?
The successful candidate will serve as a vital technical liaison among customers, sales, technical services, and mill operations. This role is crucial for supporting both new business initiatives and ongoing production orders, ensuring product quality aligns with our organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of advanced high-strength steel (AHSS) and API pipe & tube grades.
- Drive product and process optimization to enhance steel grade performance.
- Facilitate customer qualifications and product approval processes.
- Conduct mechanical property failure investigations and root cause analyses.
- Evaluate customer and industry specifications to ensure mill capabilities meet required standards.
- Act as a technical liaison to address product quality aspects for new and existing business opportunities.
- Oversee the review of business orders and manage material configurations in SAP.
- Develop and maintain quality management systems, ensuring compliance through regular audits.
- Bachelor's degree in Materials or Metallurgical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in research, operations, quality assurance, or manufacturing.
- Proven expertise in applying Lean Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement.
- Experience in failure investigation and root cause analysis within a metallurgy or steel manufacturing context.
- Familiarity with flat-rolled steel products and quality systems.
- Strong statistical analysis skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with SAP and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work closely with technicians and contractors to ensure effective practices.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proactive in adopting innovations in technology and business processes.
