Position Overview:

  1. Oversee the operation and maintenance of Omnicell automation products as directed by the Customer during scheduled hours.
  2. Prepare and ensure the readiness of Omnicell automation equipment (ADCs and AWSs) for daily operations.
  3. Conduct general troubleshooting of equipment.
  4. Maintain optimal medication inventory levels and review associated reports.
  5. Identify and communicate any nursing concerns to the Pharmacy Informatics Assistant Director.
  6. Monitor formulary inventory levels to guarantee medication availability for dispensing.
  7. Responsible for the prescribed maintenance of automation products and report unresolved issues to the Technical Assistance Center (TAC).
  8. Recommend medications for addition to automation products based on usage data, demand, and workflow.
  9. Perform routine cleaning of equipment following best practices.
  10. Inspect equipment for functionality and wear.
  11. Resolve common system issues and monitor trends to identify root causes.
  12. Maintain high levels of communication to facilitate proactive problem-solving.
  13. Ensure customer satisfaction by aligning Pharmacy services with a focus on quality and responsiveness.
  14. Conduct training and orientation sessions, ensuring compliance with all procedures and policies.
  15. Act as a knowledgeable resource to promote customer satisfaction.
  16. Engage in planning processes by setting personal goals to support quality improvement initiatives.
  17. Maintain onsite inventory of supplies for ADCs and AWSs.
  18. Perform quality assurance duties, including auditing proper equipment usage and removing expired medications.
  19. Conduct ongoing inspections of equipment to ensure operational integrity.

Minimum Qualifications: Effective April 25, 2021, all new hires into the title of Pharmacy Technician must possess a valid license to practice as a Registered Pharmacy Technician by the NYSED.
