Job Summary:

Ducks Unlimited, Inc. is seeking a self-motivated Civil Professional Engineer to join our conservation team in the Big Rivers Field Office. The successful applicant will be responsible for planning, designing, and constructing wetland restoration and enhancement projects in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, and Missouri.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a full range of project planning, design, contracting, and construction management functions on wetland, riparian, and associated habitat restoration projects.
  • Prepare proposal scope of work and budgets in close coordination with biological staff.
  • Interpret, select, adapt, and apply engineering, surveying, and construction management principles and practices across a range of engineering services within a diverse conservation program.
  • Complete engineering designs and reports as required.
  • Perform topographic surveys.
  • Conduct field inspection and perform construction management oversight as needed.
  • Ensure that consultants and contractors adhere to project plans, specifications, and schedules.
  • Act as contracting officer, ensure contract compliance and manage project budgets.

Requirements:

  • Must have a B.S in Civil Engineering or an equivalent degree from an EAC/ABET accredited engineering program.
  • Be a registered professional engineer and have a minimum of 4 years of experience in civil engineering design.
  • Demonstrated oral, written, and good communication skills are essential.
  • Desirable qualifications include experience with surveying, Civil3D, hydrology, hydraulics, civil design including structures and pump stations, erosion control, construction inspection and project management.

Working Conditions:

The position will include occasional travel and may require strenuous outdoor activity in difficult environmental conditions. Must be able to operate ATV and outboard boat when necessary.
