About this position:
Our team is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor to lead our Batteries Manufacturing team. This position will oversee our 2nd and 3rd shift technician teams while providing mentorship to engineering personnel. The primary focus will be on technician systems, team development, continuous improvement initiatives, and safety enhancements. This role will involve substantial hands-on contributions to meet departmental technical responsibilities and maintain team performance metrics.
This position will primarily support our 2nd and 3rd shift technician teams, with typical hours from approximately 11 AM to 7 PM, Monday through Friday. The supervisor will have the flexibility to adjust their on-site hours to optimally support the team, which will be discussed further during the interview process.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing guidance and training to team members, fostering their career development, motivating individuals to achieve their goals, and ensuring a high-quality workforce.
- Facilitating cross-training among the technician team.
- Collaborating with management to set departmental goals, objectives, and budgets.
- Assisting management in planning resource requirements and recruitment for the department.
- Prioritizing and managing the execution of multiple projects.
- Successfully completing manufacturing engineering projects related to Value Improvement Process (VIP), Strategic Activity Review (STAR) projects, or new product development.
- Maintaining and enhancing relationships within cross-functional teams.
- Working collaboratively to identify and resolve production and engineering challenges.
- Ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or a related area.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing problem-solving and process improvement methodologies (e.g., DMAIC) and production flow techniques (e.g., LEAN manufacturing).
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to analyze, summarize, and present ideas clearly using visual communication tools (e.g., tables, graphs, Excel, Minitab, and PowerPoint).
- Experience in the medical device sector.
- Proven experience leading technical teams (technicians and/or engineers).
- Hands-on technical and mechanical experience with a strong aptitude.
- Demonstrated leadership in problem-solving within a manufacturing support context.
