Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sterile Processing Supervisor to join our team at UNC Health Care. As a key member of our sterile processing department, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective processing of sterile supplies and instruments for our operating rooms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in maintaining inventory of supplies, equipment, and repair parts, and ensure timely replacement and repair of existing equipment.
  • Assist with the selection, hiring, and coaching of staff, and monitor performance to ensure high-quality results.
  • Confer with company representatives to stay up-to-date on new equipment and technologies, and recommend purchases to improve operations.
  • Ensure staff adherence to relevant policies and procedures, including Infection Control Guidelines and manufacturer's instructions for use.
  • Supervise personnel responsible for processing, storing, distributing, issuing, and stocking surgical instruments and medical supplies.
  • Review work of staff to ensure quality, accuracy of charges, inventory levels, and equipment on hand.
  • Set the standard for customer service, train staff, evaluate employees, and advise customers on equipment and supply use.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Sterile processing certification required
  • Three (3) years of experience relevant to the processing or inventorying of medical surgical supplies
Work Environment

This is a full-time position with a standard work schedule of 40 hours per week. The work assignment type is onsite, and the location is Raleigh, NC.
