Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain Red Hat servers utilizing enterprise tools such as Satellite, Puppet, Ansible, JAMF, and Centrify.
  • Oversee services operating on Red Hat servers, including Apache, Docker, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Postfix, Nessus, ACAS Security Center, Samba, Splunk, and Ansible Tower.
  • Develop custom bash scripts to streamline various administrative tasks.
  • Diagnose and resolve system outages and issues to restore services efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD 8500 series and NIST security standards for all client services, including hardware and software.
  • Create and maintain systems architecture and other relevant documentation.
  • Formulate test plans for evaluating hardware and software prior to implementation.
  • Deliver written test plans for client approval before deployment.
  • Provide documented testing results prior to system production.
  • Evaluate system concepts, designs, and support program proposals in writing.
  • Research, develop, and integrate innovative technologies.
  • Implement and oversee testing and installation of patches, updates, and software versions.
  • Maintain server logs on a centralized log server and provide them to the Information Systems Security Manager upon request.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and server patching as per ACAS scans.
  • Install necessary patches on client servers and workstations.
  • Ensure adherence to Cybersecurity Vulnerability Alerts and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG).
  • Assist in the technical evaluation of vendor submissions for compliance with specifications.
  • Engage in the Change Management Control process and submit Requests for Change.
  • Develop and manage RHEL and Mac desktop integration with Windows services.
  • Support user PKI authentication integrated with Active Directory.
  • Address end-user issues and requests related to RHEL and MacOS desktops.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 5 years of applicable experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma with at least 7 years of relevant experience is acceptable.
  • Interim Secret Clearance is permissible until full Secret clearance is obtained.
  • Must obtain and maintain a computing environment certification relevant to job duties within 6 months of hire.
  • DoD M baseline certification required at the time of hire.
  • Proven experience with Red Hat servers and enterprise tools including Satellite, Puppet, Ansible, JAMF, and Centrify.
  • Familiarity with services on Red Hat servers such as Apache, Docker, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Postfix, Nessus, ACAS Security Center, Samba, Splunk, and Ansible Tower.
  • Experience in writing custom bash scripts.
  • Knowledge of implementing STIG checklists.
  • Familiarity with RMF processes and artifacts.
  • Experience in developing and managing RHEL and Mac desktop integration with Windows services.
  • Experience with user PKI authentication integrated with Active Directory.
  • Proficiency with security tools such as ACAS.
  • Experience in evaluating hardware and software for implementation.
  • Understanding of RHEL system concepts and designs.
  • Ability to make recommendations addressing future performance needs of enterprise services.
  • Experience in preventative maintenance and server patching.
  • Ability to work independently with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and provide support to team members.
