As a Medical Surgical Clinical Nurse Coordinator, you'll play a vital role in ensuring seamless coordination of all functions in the unit/department during your designated shift.

About the Role
  • You'll assist with admission and discharge processes to guarantee efficient throughput and high-quality patient-centered care.
  • You'll participate in ongoing assessments of patient care services provided in the unit, collaborating with other management team members.
  • You'll collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to foster an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
  • You'll engage in service recovery when necessary and support a patient-first philosophy.
About the Unit

This 29-bed Medical Surgical unit provides care for patients with a variety of conditions, including diabetes, wound care, cardiac issues, chronic pain, renal/liver failure, and more. The patient-to-nurse ratio is approximately 5-6:1 (with PCT support).

Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited diploma, associate or baccalaureate degree nursing program required.
  • Current Registered Nurse license in the state of Texas required; if Compact License, a Texas RN license is required within 90 days of hire.
  • Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in an acute care setting required.
  • At least 1 year of charge nurse and/or leadership experience preferred.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

We offer a competitive salary, estimated at $85,000 per year, based on industry standards for this role in the San Antonio area.
