About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Architect to join our team at In-Q-Tel. As a key member of our Cyber Practice, you will play a critical role in identifying and executing investments in cutting-edge technologies to support our government partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead technical diligence on investments in assigned technical areas, leveraging your expertise in secure software development, embedded systems security, cryptography, and more.
  • Develop and negotiate Statements of Work contracts between In-Q-Tel and start-up companies, ensuring seamless collaboration and effective solutions.
  • Provide technical oversight of work programs, assessing deliverables and identifying paths for resolution of issues.
  • Leverage your technical and market experience to develop Global Competitive Analyses and situational awareness products, informing our government partners' technology needs.
  • Foster trusted partnerships with start-ups and government agencies, developing technology architectures and solutions to address complex challenges.
Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to contractual reasons.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of professional experience overseeing technology development efforts in a business and/or intelligence environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following fields: secure software development, embedded systems security, cryptography, vulnerability assessment, endpoint security, network security, cloud security, and malware analysis.
  • Previous experience negotiating milestone-based Statements of Work contracts.
  • Candidates with active top-secret clearance preferred; at a minimum, candidate must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Commitment to continued understanding of new technologies and their strategic advantages.
  • Hands-on development experience in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, Golang, or Rust, as well as cloud computing platforms like GCP, AWS, and Azure.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, identify root cause issues, and present recommendations for non-technical audiences.
  • Startup or entrepreneurial experience and proven ability to thrive in a non-traditional environment.
  • Comfortable presenting complex technology subjects to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Prior experience working with the US Intelligence Community.
  • Strong writing skills, with experience in technical writing and proposal/contract writing.
