Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to provide essential therapeutic services to students in need. As a School-Based Occupational Therapist, you will assess student needs, develop and implement individualized therapy plans, and work closely with school staff and families to support students' academic and functional success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Therapy Services: Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate students' needs and develop tailored therapy plans.
  • Collaboration: Work with teachers, parents, and other school personnel to integrate therapy strategies into the classroom setting.
  • Direct Therapy: Deliver direct therapy services focused on motor skills, sensory integration, and adaptive techniques.
  • Training and Development: Develop and lead training sessions for educators and parents on strategies to support students with various needs.
  • Progress Tracking: Track and document student progress, adjusting therapy plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • IEP Support: Contribute to the development and review of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and attend related meetings.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of South Carolina.
  • Certification: Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) is preferred.
  • Experience: Experience working with children in school or educational settings is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of child development, special education, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Organizational: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
