Job Overview

WSP is seeking a skilled Traffic Data Analyst to support our Denver, CO office in a special assignment with the Federal Highway Association (FHWA) for the National Park Service (NPS). As a key member of our team, you will work on traffic data projects, collaborating with engineers, planners, and other professionals. About the Role

As a Traffic Data Analyst, you will be responsible for working on the NPS Traffic Data Annual Report, preparing park chapters, and analyzing traffic data in select parks for traffic patterns. You will also investigate new traffic counting technologies, determine their applicability to different physical environments, and compile data requests for traffic data as needed. Additionally, you will create and update count stations in the Traffic Database, assist the FOTSC Manager in creating the NPS Traffic Data Annual Report, and conduct field work to scope new count stations and inspect/repair existing ones based on FOTSC's specifications.

Responsibilities

* Work on the NPS Traffic Data Annual Report, including preparing park chapters and analyzing traffic data in select parks for traffic patterns
* Investigate new traffic counting technologies and determine their applicability to different physical environments
* Compile data requests for traffic data and create/update count stations in the Traffic Database
* Assist the FOTSC Manager in creating the NPS Traffic Data Annual Report
* Conduct field work to scope new count stations and inspect/repair existing ones based on FOTSC's specifications
* Review inspection reports created by FHWA or its contractors
* Provide backup support to other FOTSC staff
* Review and provide quality control on monthly traffic data from NPS
* Develop and update QA/QC procedures
* Drive Federal government vehicles

Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Math, Data Analysis, Accounting, Finance, or related field
* 3-5 years of relevant post-education experience in engineering, statistics, data analytics, or related discipline
* Ability to pass a Federal background check
* Authorized to work in the United States
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to interact effectively with colleagues and clients
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
* Knowledge of DOT advisory circulars and procedures preferred
* Ability to learn new techniques and adapt to changing requirements
