Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shop Supervisor to join our team at Intermountain Electronics Inc. in South Point, Ohio. As a Shop Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating the day-to-day production operations of our growing production shop.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and guidance to production employees in a manufacturing environment.
  • Develop and implement plans for effective production of assigned projects.
  • Work closely with other departments to meet production and shipping schedules.
  • Ensure timely delivery of assigned projects and advise leadership when schedules are not realistic.
  • Provide work assignments to employees and assist them with welding instruction and/or production assistance.
  • Enforce safety regulations and lead by example in safe production.
  • Oversee the need for preventative maintenance of all equipment.
  • Analyze and resolve problems.
  • Think outside the box and develop better ways of doing things, working with Supervisor and Engineering to implement changes.
Requirements
  • High school diploma plus five years of production management experience operating a welding shop or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum two years of supervisory experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good general computer operation skills and basic knowledge of manufacturing software (Epicor).
  • Good mathematical skills.
  • Able to apply written instructions to machine set-up and maintenance.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of all facets of equipment production: set up, fabrication, paint, welding.
  • Ability to perform all production functions when necessary.
  • Confident, productive welder with the ability to work closely with other welders/team members while keeping production flowing and meeting due dates.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve high-quality weldments through continual attention to detail and anticipation of potential problems during the weld planning and design review stages.
  • Requires leadership and communication skills acquired through education or previous experience and process familiarity gained by working in heavy fabrication.
  • Capable of MIG welding and other various metals based on job requirements.
  • Lead or supervisory experience preferred.
