Job Description:

This position is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care to expectant mothers, new mothers, and newborns in the labor and delivery department. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a passion for providing compassionate care to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care to laboring patients, including administering medications, performing procedures, and providing emotional support.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify potential complications and develop strategies to prevent them.
  • Provide education to patients and their families on various aspects of care, including pain management, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure seamless care transitions.
Requirements:
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Colorado or a valid compact state.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • One year of experience in labor and delivery or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Experience with electronic medical records.
  • Knowledge of lactation education and support.
Work Environment:

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team setting, communicate clearly and effectively, and maintain a calm and professional demeanor in high-stress situations.
