Accounting Clerk

Area Temps, Inc. is seeking an experienced Accounting Clerk to join our team. As an Accounting Clerk, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing accounts payable and receivable, and preparing financial statements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the accuracy of financial data and perform accounts payable, vendor management, and general ledger tasks
• Maintain and update vendor files, including contact information, payment terms, and tax documentation
• Process and manage accounts payable transactions with accuracy and resolve discrepancies
• Prepare and process weekly check runs, wire, and ACH payments
• Assist in month and year-end closing processes for preparing financial statements
• Update and maintain fixed assets schedules and depreciation, prepare monthly sales, and tax filings
• Prepare and process journal entries, payroll, depreciation, lease, prepaid expense, accrued expense, etc.
• Lead weekly and monthly inventory cycle counts throughout the plant
• Review and analyze purchase orders, accounts payable, and inventory costs by project
• Assist the Controller with production cost accounting and support continuous process improvements with the Accounting Department
• Travel locally between manufacturing sites as needed to support the full Accounting Department
• Cross-train as a backup in other areas and perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science or Arts Degree in Accounting
• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Willingness to engage with operations on the shop floor to understand all facets of the business
• Analytical skills with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word with accurate data entry skills
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
• Ability to multi-task, work independently, and in a team setting
