Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced School Bus Driver to transport students safely and efficiently to and from school. The ideal candidate will possess a valid Alabama driver's license, a clean driving record, and the ability to obtain a CDL with required endorsements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport students to and from school on a daily basis, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, including defensive driving habits and posted speed limits.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly bus, including daily cleaning and organization of the interior and exterior.
  • Report any accidents or incidents to the Transportation Office and other appropriate officials in a timely manner.
  • Assist students with special needs, including those who require wheel chair lifts or other special equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school personnel to ensure a positive and safe transportation experience.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED as recognized by the SDE.
  • Valid Alabama driver's license and insurable driving record.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a CDL with required endorsements.
  • Background clearance through FBI and ABI processes.
  • Meet and follow the health, age, and drug screening requirements of TCSS.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work the hours required for the job and additional time as requested.
  • Ability to operate the vehicle safely over an assigned route according to a definite time schedule.
  • Ability to work outdoors in a variety of conditions and temperatures, including loud noises.
