About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Westinghouse Electric Company, LLC. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting the construction of nuclear power plants, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of these facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of engineering work in support of construction, including fluid system walk-downs, review of P&IDs, design changes, and engineering support requests.
  • Compile data for project reports, collect and compile field data as required, and assist in proposal efforts as directed.
  • Document technical data for management review, provide entry-level duties as assigned, and assist with preparation of labor/material estimates and design packages for clients.
  • Collect and interpret engineering data, develop project design basis, and perform detailed engineering, ensuring conformance to applicable engineering codes and standards as well as company policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalency required.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience required; 4 plus years preferred.
  • Familiarity with mechanical engineering design and procurement processes, mechanical standards (ASTM, ANSI, HEI, etc.) and codes (ASME III and/or B31.1) a plus.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Unescorted Access within the controlled construction area.
  • Basic understanding of the impact and interrelationship of other disciplines' drawings (e.g., Electrical, Civil, and Structural) on design.
  • Ability to interpret and understand applicable NRC standards and regulations.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to project sites for short-term assignments lasting from a couple of days to 6 months.
  • Position requires ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access to power plants.
  • Microsoft Product skill sets required at an advanced level.
  • Excellent Communication skills required as teammates and specialists are scattered across the country and the world.
