Position Overview:

The Aerial Laborer will perform various labor tasks associated with telecommunications infrastructure development under the guidance of the Foreman or Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Engage in all aspects of underground construction, including but not limited to: loading, transporting, excavating, and managing various construction materials and equipment.
  2. Utilize hand tools and mechanical equipment for digging and installation tasks.
  3. Assist in the installation and upkeep of underground telecommunications cabling.
  4. Safely operate and navigate equipment such as trucks, backhoes, and trenchers.
  5. Work effectively in both congested and remote locations.
  6. Maintain visual and audible communication with team members and ensure safe operations around moving equipment.
  7. Perform general construction activities as directed by the Foreman or Supervisor.
  8. Conduct flagging and restoration of work sites as necessary.
  9. Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a secure working environment in compliance with all regulations and policies.

Qualifications:

Candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Basic proficiency in operating various utility vehicles and equipment safely is required.

Familiarity with hand tools and safety practices is essential.

Effective communication skills with colleagues and clients are necessary.

Consistent and punctual attendance is a crucial aspect of this role.

Preferred Qualifications:

Possession of a Class A Commercial Driver's License is advantageous.

A minimum of six months of experience in the utility construction sector is preferred.

Ability to read and interpret utility maps and blueprints to identify underground utilities is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

The role requires the ability to perform tasks for at least 8 hours a day, five days a week, with potential overtime, weekend, or emergency work as needed.

Employees must be capable of standing, crouching, sitting, bending, and using hands and fingers for various tasks, including lifting and carrying weights of up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs as required.

Workers should be prepared to operate in adverse weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and inclement weather.
