Position Overview:
The Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering compassionate nursing care to patients facing terminal illnesses. This role involves providing essential support to families during challenging times and collaborating with a dedicated Hospice team to ensure quality care.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct regular assessments of patient needs and adjust care plans accordingly.
2. Offer dietary guidance and nursing services, including treatments and preventive measures.
3. Initiate nursing procedures tailored to the safety and comfort of patients in Hospice care.
4. Monitor and report any significant changes in patients' physical or emotional states to the physician and interdisciplinary group (IDG) members.
5. Educate and support patients and their families in managing care effectively.
6. Supervise and mentor nursing staff, ensuring high standards of care.
7. Collaborate with the IDG to develop and continuously evaluate care plans that meet patient and family needs.
8. Maintain accurate records and adhere to Hospice policies and HIPAA regulations.
9. Participate in on-call duties and provide coverage as needed.
10. Engage in team meetings and contribute to the overall care strategy.

Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- Active RN license in Michigan.
- Minimum of two years of nursing experience, preferably in Hospice.
- Recent patient contact experience is preferred.
- Ability to work autonomously and make informed decisions quickly.
- Strong supervisory skills and crisis management capabilities.
- Cultural sensitivity and adaptability to diverse patient backgrounds.
- Completion of a Hospice training program is required.
