We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Technician III to join our team at the NC Department of Transportation. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading project inspections, ensuring compliance with NCDOT specifications, and providing technical assistance to lower-level employees.
Key Responsibilities- Lead project inspections to ensure compliance with NCDOT specifications
- Perform material sampling and testing to ensure compliance with NCDOT specifications
- Provide technical assistance to lower-level employees
- Supervise and train lower-level employees
- Ensure compliance with NCDOT and external environmental agency erosion control and permit requirements
- Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, or assigned discipline from an appropriately accredited institution
- Three (3) years of progressive technician level experience
- Working knowledge of NCDOT highway and bridge construction
- Working knowledge of contracts, plans, standards, and specifications
- Experience in performing inspection, sampling, and testing of materials (concrete, asphalt density) to ensure compliance with NCDOT specifications
- Demonstrated ability to supervise the work of lower-level technicians
- Demonstrated ability to lead co-workers on assigned tasks
