Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Amberwell Hiawatha. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in providing optimal pharmaceutical care to our patients and ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adjudicate billing and verify medication administration records
  • Process medications ordered from wholesalers and verify barcode recognition by electronic medical record and automated dispensing cabinet software
  • Restock automated dispensing cabinets and ensure adequate stock levels
  • Perform unit dose packaging and maintain log books
  • Check medication cabinets for adequate stock and outdated or expired items
  • Collect and destroy outdated or expired medications
  • Fill patient-specific medication cassettes and restock nursing items
  • Order drug products from wholesalers and select quality contract products with best pricing
  • Assist pharmacists with computer tasks and non-judgmental activities
  • Manage patient records and pharmacy files
Requirements
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent
  • Previous technician experience in a pharmacy or hospital pharmacy desirable
  • Technician registration with the Kansas State Board of Pharmacy
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) required within one year of employment
Working Conditions

This position is subject to minor injuries, back injury, infections, communicable diseases, and exposure to disagreeable sights, odors, and chemicals. PPE is required for certain job functions.
