Job Summary

This position provides administrative support to the operations, programs, and services of a public library in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough library system. The successful candidate will perform a variety of tasks, including clerical duties, customer service, and light custodial work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist patrons at the circulation desk, check materials in and out, and provide assistance with library technology.
  • Process new materials, append barcodes, and perform light maintenance tasks.
  • Shelve books, rearrange shelves, and enter statistical information regarding library operations.
  • Open and close the library, sort donations, and implement library programs for children, youth, and adults.
  • Perform basic clerical duties and issue permits as requested.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of experience in a similar position, with relevant skills and experience in customer service, office technology, and money handling.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and possess a valid driver's license issued by the State of Alaska.
