Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Management Engineer to join our team at the Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts. As a key member of our Construction Management Section, you will be responsible for overseeing construction activities, investigating and resolving construction and engineering problems, and reviewing and negotiating contractors' extra work claims and change proposals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee construction activities and ensure compliance with Districts' policies and procedures
  • Investigate and resolve construction and engineering problems in a timely and efficient manner
  • Review and negotiate contractors' extra work claims and change proposals
  • Review construction project schedules and track work progress
  • Prepare pay estimates and evaluate the impact of project progress on Districts' operations
  • Coordinate with other Districts' departments and agencies as needed to ensure satisfactory project progress
  • Prepare project monthly progress reports
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a pertinent engineering discipline or related science
  • Master's degree in a pertinent engineering discipline or related science (for Engineering Associate classification)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of California (for professional engineer level)
  • Minimum 2 years of professional engineering experience (for Engineering Associate classification)
  • Minimum 6 years of professional engineering experience (for professional engineer level)
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 or more years of experience in construction management
  • Master's degree in a pertinent engineering field
  • Certified Associate Construction Manager (CACM) or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification
