Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Special Education Professional to join our team in the Northern, VA area.

This role involves collaborating with parents, general education teachers, and other specialists to create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Key responsibilities include:

  • Setting specific, measurable goals and objectives for each student based on their unique needs.
  • Modifying general education curriculum to meet the needs of students with disabilities.
  • Developing and using specialized teaching materials and strategies.
  • Regularly assessing and monitoring student performance and progress toward IEP goals.
  • Teaching academic and life skills using specialized instructional methods.
  • Providing one-on-one or small-group instruction to support individual learning needs.
  • Implementing and managing behavioral interventions and strategies.
  • Working closely with speech therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and other specialists to support student development.
  • Communicating regularly with parents or guardians about their child's progress and needs.
  • Maintaining detailed records of student progress, IEPs, and any incidents or concerns.
  • Preparing and submitting required reports and documentation in compliance with school and legal requirements.
  • Staying current with best practices in special education through ongoing training and education.
  • Participating in workshops, conferences, and other professional development opportunities.
  • Advocating for students' needs and ensuring they have access to appropriate resources and accommodations.
