Wilson County Hospital is seeking a dedicated Clinical Laboratory Specialist to enhance our laboratory team. This role is essential in providing comprehensive laboratory services across various shifts in a critical access healthcare environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe selected candidate will:
- Conduct and report laboratory tests of varying complexities on patients of all ages.
- Assist in the routine screening, diagnosis, treatment, and management of medical conditions.
- Interpret and correlate test outcomes with clinical knowledge and disease states.
- Engage in problem-solving for complex laboratory scenarios.
- Participate in Quality Assurance and Quality Control initiatives.
- Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
- Perform phlebotomy and manage specimen processing tasks.
Applicants must possess:
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (2-year) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (4-year) through ASCP (or equivalent) within one year of employment.
- MLS or MLT certification through ASCP (or equivalent) as a Medical Laboratory Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician.
- Individuals with a bachelor’s degree who are in the process of obtaining certification within one year are also encouraged to consider this opportunity.
This position offers flexible hours, including PRN or casual shifts, accommodating the right candidate's availability. The role may involve working nights, weekends, and holidays.
