Position Overview:
The Senior Medical Laboratory Leader is tasked with executing a comprehensive range of laboratory analyses and delivering precise results to physicians utilizing various clinical laboratory technologies. In this role, it is essential to assist the Technical Specialist in enhancing laboratory operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform the responsibilities of a Medical Lab Scientist.
- Support the Technical Specialist in the rollout of new protocols and policies.
- Collaborate with the Technical Specialist to manage the proficiency testing program, ensuring all tests are registered, analyzed, and reviewed within established timelines.
- Propose system improvements to boost efficiency and accuracy in workflow, ensuring optimal daily operations.
- Prepare departmental schedules and adjust time allocations as necessary for effective operations.
- Adhere to all compliance obligations associated with the role.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Biology, or Biochemistry from a Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) approved program (required).
Certifications:
- Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) or ASCP Certification (required).
Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of clinical laboratory experience (required).
- 5 years of clinical laboratory experience preferred, but not mandatory.
- 2 years of leadership experience preferred, but not mandatory.
Skills & Abilities:
- Capability to deliver high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to engage professionally with staff and patients.
