Job Summary:

The Biomedical Technician will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of medical equipment and systems in a hospital environment. This includes onboard new medical equipment, performing electrical safety inspections, and maintaining documentation consistent with all maintenance activities performed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Onboard new medical equipment, including unboxing, assembly, asset inventory, documentation, performance verification, and electrical safety inspections.
• React to emergencies and urgent needs for service, participating in the on-call process that demands being available for response on off-hours and weekends.
• Repair and maintain hospital medical equipment and systems in accordance with manufacturer requirements, regulatory agencies, and Children's Medical Center Dallas guidelines and practices.
• Maintain documentation consistent with all maintenance activities performed.
• Assist in the repair and maintenance of complex equipment and systems.

Requirements:

• Associate of Science degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, or equivalent.
• Military training and experience.
• No less than two to three years of hospital environment experience required, with three to five years' experience preferred.

Essential Skills:

• The ability to hear and communicate with others in a clear, understandable, and professional manner on the phone and in person.
• The ability to interact effectively with varying personalities and in a fast-paced environment.
• The ability to read and understand schematics, technical drawings, service manuals, and other technical documentation.
• The ability to operate personal computers in a Windows environment.
