Position Overview:
The TIG Welder plays a vital role in the manufacturing process, responsible for welding various metal vessels using Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) techniques. Our commitment to quality is reflected in our adherence to ASME, DOT, AAR, and EN pressure vessel codes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operate cranes, forklifts, and aerial lifts as required.
2. Execute welding tasks with minimal supervision, adhering to established manufacturing processes.
3. Conduct complete welding and finishing operations for unit repairs.
4. Maintain accurate records, including production travelers and material traceability.
5. Ensure cleanliness and organization of the work area.
6. Monitor equipment functionality and report maintenance needs promptly.
7. Assist new welders in developing their skills.
8. Follow all safety protocols and complete required training.
9. Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Completion of a Welder Training Program.
- Proficiency in all positions with GTAW.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading and welding symbols.
- Competence in visual inspection techniques.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent movement including sitting, standing, bending, and walking.
- Occasional climbing and working at heights.
Professional Experience:
Successful candidates must complete and pass a welding test, demonstrating skills in TIG welding, including specific bead and pipe tests. The first week will focus on qualification in the testing lab.
